So as posted below I am getting a new job, but as part of that job I will be further away from where I live... My commute distance is going from about 26 miles to 43 miles (according to google maps) Now I will be commuting one less day a week (4 vs 5). but it seems a bit daunting. I do have a plan to move, in the next year or two, as this job pays enough for us to move into town, and not live south of the phoenix metro area by 20 miles. but it will be at least a year or two before that happens. (pay off the wife's car, and save up a down payment)
Anybody else have to deal with a long commute? I'm glad I have my 2500 dollar alero to put all these miles on, and not my wife's saab. I really miss the train system I commuted on while living in holland... It was just easier. 10 minute bike ride, 25 minutes on the train, and a 10 minute walk... I was a lot thinner then too.
