Per OnDemand5, a repair shop estimating software package. 1995 4WD Nissan Pathfinder with Automatic.
Transmission Remove and Replace is 8.1 hours
Transmission Remove, Overhaul, and Install is 17.0 hours
These are general guidelines only as I have found some times for our Saabs to be unreasonably short, even for Pros. I double all times for my D-I-Y work and even a Pro who is unfamiliar with the specific vehicle model may need more time - assuming the written time is correct.
Shockingly, the estimating package shows a 4WD automatic to be ~$2100, or $1000 less than a RWD automatic for this vehicle. See what I mean about the numbers being guidelines only?
