Ok, shame me into it.... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 28 Jan 2013 11:01:40 In Reply to: Well..., No Snaab, Mon, 28 Jan 2013 08:59:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The car in question is a 1960 MGA with all the OEM and aftermarket bits & pieces I would add to such a car (Mini-lite wheels, new convertible top, tonneau cover, and a luggage rack). The car was fully restored 14 years ago and has been meticulously (obsessively maybe?) maintained by its present owner since.
I won't be able to inspect the car until March but I don't expect to find sagging doors, missing seats/major interior pieces, painted over rust, mis-matched ignition wires, or shiny painted surfaces which move under very gentle finger pressure as I have seen on some local cars. The two second place finishes in car shows indicate that this car is highly likely to be top-notch.
I had the same thoughts as you regarding renting a U-Haul car-hauling truck after receiving the price quote from Reliable. Four hundered miles is only one long day of driving, almost all of it on I-90.
