Not sure if you're being cute or just pointing out another issue related to getting a new pair of 2 tires. But yes, if the remaining pair have a significant amount of wear, it's best to put the new tires on the back. This is due to the better resistance to hydroplaning (which is worse for overall stability if it happens on the rear tires) on account of their deeper tread. An important but pretty specific concern that is separate from the matter of different brands or models of tire.
