I was able to get in the house today Posted by Don [Email] (#1099) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Don) on Sun, 10 Feb 2013 13:16:58 In Reply to: Also note, Bill Homer [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 10 Feb 2013 06:30:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Fire traveled up from the basement inside interior walls on the first floor, lots of chared wood on the basement ceiling, and some of the interior walls in the kitchen and bathroom, firemen made quite a mess chasing it, wood floors are soaked.
Electrical system is burnt to a crisp in about 1/2 the house, it's a small bungalow.
The wires at the pole look to have been repaired as there is one brand new wire from the pole to my drop.
The tenant said there was a loud pop outside and the power went out, he heard crackling in the basement, opened the basement door and found the exposed bx wiring glowing, and the romex was burning.
Serve pro finally showed up and will begin sucking up the basement water today.
I drained the water heater and as many pipes as I could, and poured RV antifreeze in the toilet tank and bowl and all drain traps.
Hopfully the adjuster will get there quickly, I feel bad for the tenant, no renters insurance.
