Back in February when a blizzard dumped 28" of snow on CT I ordered a couple really nice snow roof rakes from a nice little company in Michigan (one for myself, and one for my parents). I figured they were on back order, but after a month of not seeing or hearing anything about them other than a $122 charge on my Visa card, I called (back in mid-March). The VERY pleasant woman informed me they had been shipped next day and delivered by USPS on February 13th!
I called the local USPS and the guy was actually moderately helpful for a government employee. Said they had recollection of a few of those boxes (long, skinny, white, sorta big) going through but nothing ever came back. My carrier claims he left it at my front door. This is impossible though because I didn't bother to shovel out the walkways to either of my front doors and there were no foot steps in the snow. Oh and I live in a secluded neighborhood in an affluent CT town with a crime rate of about negative 67. The chances of them being stolen are basically zero. Plus I've have plenty of high end stuff delivered that sat out in plain site to the world and haven't had trouble.
So who do I go turbo-bitch on? It's not the fault of the shipper. It's obviously USPS's screw-up, but USPS doesn't insure any of their deliveries so I feel like they have no liability here! Meanwhile I've got a big "IDK LOL" attached to $122 that I could put toward plenty of other uses.
