They just seem to keep running for hundreds of thousands of miles as long as you maintain them. I know it has to be possible to wear out a Saab engine but I've never managed to do it. (Now the C900 transmission is another story entirely!)

This is for the pre-GM "H" engines, I have no experience with the others.
