Egrets and Herons Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 22 Apr 2013 03:36:13 In Reply to: we have one, dave24 [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 21 Apr 2013 17:48:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Our neighbors have one and their only complaint is that the egrets and herons eat all their fish! Even in residential neighborhoods these wading birds will drop in for a quick lunch.
They no longer have fish but have a large population of chirping frogs which drive them batty. Personally, I sort of like the chirping at night but I like the sound of cicadas as well.
Oh! Two years ago a toddler drowned in a backyard ornamental pond about a mile or so away. You MUST treat this hazard as you would an in-ground pool to avoid this type of heartache with its legal consequences.
