Agree about Subies.
My wife had one (2000 Legacy Outback Wagon) when we were first married. I even talked her into it (over something like a Civic or Corolla) so we could use for skiing/camping/carrying people and things. At the time I drove my 9000 Aero (5spd).
As nice as the Subie was, I just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that it cost more than my Saab. The seats alone are nearly inexcusable. Anything more than an hour and I needed supplemental lumbar support. Any Saab I've ever driven (and I've driven every chassis four-stroke Saab produced except the 9-3SS) has day-long seats.
Not bad cars, and I hear the newer ones are getting better, but I'm cautious!
