drivers ed said about 50/50 time watching light vs watching rearview, back and forth constantly... leave escape route (eg space ahead) to do what you did... it is amazing what people will do when not paying attention... can't trust them!
skimming that subie thread, there were a number of others complaining about whiplash after rear enders, and all I could think was would they have been better off in a 9-5 with sahr? I'm guessing yeah... most of the rear ender threads on the 9-5 bb are oriented around how to fix/part out/ value, etc... not whiplash that I can remember...
Most of my friends drive subies. I wanted to like them (and drove a bunch), but they really are not saabs... my wife agrees... (or at least not the larger ones: Forester/Outback - we are not so experienced in Imprezas especially the WRX/STI which probably drive pretty well). I have concluded that most subie drivers haven't driven much else - like lemmings they just go in and buy a new one when a hg fails... or at least that has been my observation locally...
