We had a really bad accident about a block away from my house. A late model MB SL went straight where the road curves--at 2am with a young driver so you add two and two. He left skid marks for more than 50 yards, went off the road, hit a really steep earth berm, flew into the air, hit two, one foot diameter pines trees, snapping them off three feet above the ground (the stumps were nearly ripped out of the ground), then came to rest on the road in our sub-division. The question is how can one leave two perfectly straight skid marks (and very black) for fifty yards in a car with anti-lock brakes? Second question is how fast would you have to be going (the speed limit is 40 mph there)to to be able to stand on the brakes for fifty yards and still have enough momentum to do everything he did after he left the road?
