If Rod lives in a location with a real winter, it would be a real waste to daily drive a nice c900 vert in winter (actually, even more so for a turbo hard top, as they will soon be the rare ones). It won't be appreciating in value if it starts to rust + then keeping it going at that point will certainly not save time or money! Would be better to sell the c900 than winter drive it.
The 9-5 wagon is probably not worth any more than the vert. I would keep it (or you can sell it to me!)... fantastic family haulers.
9000 is also a great touring car. They are probably pretty cheap to keep on the road, not worth much to sell, and there is nothing to replace a hatch like that one. Only trouble is if it is starting to rust... and the 9-5 is safer and a better bet as a touring car for a family nowadays.
I agree that selling the 944 is probably not a bad idea, as it could become expensive to maintain. That said, a porsche enthusiast might say the exact opposite (sell the saabs) - ha!
I do agree with norm - juggle the insurance. Don't insure summer cars in winter. if the porsche + c900 are old enough for historic/antique insurance, that will save a ton of $$$. There would be restrictions on where and how much you drive them, but it might work out well.
My problem with number of cars is garage space! need a barn!
