Can these rims be salvaged? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 27 Oct 2013 12:52:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I haven't seen them in person yet so I don't knowif what I am seeing is paint gouges or deep gouges in the aluminum. Assuming most of the damage is paint only, what is the cost for having rims repainted?
Only $100 for the two but they definitely need to be repainted, and maybe restoration as well. From this photo it is obvious that anyone who uses this style of rim needs to purchase tires with molded in 'Rim Protectors'.
One appears to be out of round as well. The photo angle makes the inside of the left (OK, top rim but it should be left) rim appear to be a heavily damaged outer portion of the rim. After bloiwng up the photo I think these rims have more value as scrap aluminum.
