If true? (Fact-check in order.) OR we collectively spent 10.5 B to keep an industry that may be (arguably) the backbone of our economy from vaporizing. Some people think that our government should be run like a business. All good businessmen know that you have to spend money to make money. Consider the amount of income taxes paid by the employees who are now employed versus the cost of the programs to assist them if they were now all unemployed or working at jobs that pay less than a living wage. The 10.5 B was a one-time expense. Those worker's income taxes will be paid constantly as long as they and their successors are employed. As long as there is an income tax a viable industry will pump money into the U.S. Treasury, and probably a lot more than 10.5 billion in short order.
