Ariens used to be the best, and may still be Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 4 Jan 2014 15:17:41 In Reply to: snow blowers, Tom G [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 4 Jan 2014 06:35:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Ariens was considered the best decades ago, but there has been significant consolidation of brands within a few power equipment companies. Past premium brands, such as Troy-Bilt and Bolens, are now only middle of the pack.
The web site snowblowersdirect rates snowblowers as being Good, Better or Best. For two-stage machines they awarded these three scores within three usage categories; Entry Level (Home Owner), Mid-Grade, and Premium. Of the nine awards, Ariens snagged five of them. Cub Cadet got two, Simplicity one, and Husky one.
Buying used seems to be a great way to save big money on top shelf outdoor equipment. Retirees continue heading South and don't need a snow blower in Florida.
