-14F was approximately our high for a few days last week. Windchill was -40. Pretty normal for this time of year. I have some friends who went up north (I think somewhere in Nunavut) to visit some other friends up there for a week. They brought their warmest winter stuff (coming from here), and the people there just laughed at them and lent them some proper coats, boots etc... kind of like the stories you hear of people bringing in visitors from Africa, the Caribbean, or whatnot here in winter...

basically, we can not really complain about the cold (or dark!), except that it sure is no fun fixing cars outside! I usually give up on that from about December - March (unless it is easy and abnormally warm)...
