Success! And advice for others Posted by MI-Roger [Email] In Reply to: OT: Any trick to make Win 7 Pro VM load WIS?, MI-Roger |
I got it loaded this afternoon after doing a bunch of stuff with and for my wife. The two differences between today's and last night's attempts, which might benefit others, are:
1) I waited until the Windows XP Virtual Machine within Win7 Pro was fully loaded and opened before I inserted the DVD into the drive.
2) LOTS of patience!
I loaded three separate WIS programs today, NG9-3, OG9-5, and NG9-5. The programs for the NG9-3 and OG9-5 each took forever to load. My problem last night may have been nothing with the computer, but all with me thinking something was wrong. The NG9-5 WIS (for 2010 and 2011 model years) loaded quickly.
Now I need an up to date EPC (I have a disk for a 2006 version but not for the later version I was using), and a WIS for the OG9-3 (I have two bad copies on disk from Schiff). I will be trying those links posted last week for the EPC and OG9-3 WIS.
