Wonder what the cost of ownership is, as well.

I think a Fusion Energi is north of $35K in the US while Fiat is practically giving the electric 500s away, at least on leases.

Perhaps a real comparison would be a base Fusion with a 4-cylinder gasoline motor at, say, $22K vs a Fusion Energi at $35K.

How many miles would one have to drive to make up that $13K cost delta, and would you ever get there before the vehicle life ended?

If a basic Fusion gets 25 mpg and fuel is at 369-cents/gallon, then the fuel cost alone is 14.6 cents/mile. Previously, it was established that the Energi's fuel cost averages 5.8 cents/mile, or 8.8 cents/mile lower than a base Fusion.

You'd have to drive almost 148K miles to break even ($13K/8.8). I suspect a base Fusion is pretty much done mechanically at that point. The Energi may not be done because of fewer mechanical components (?).

Might be worth it to some, doesn't include residual value of the cars, or environmental impacts.
