OT: Anyone use Double-D Bifocal lenses? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 30 Nov 2014 15:14:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Keep it clean boys, this is a serious question.
Double-D Bifocals have the distance vision prescription occupy the large central part of the lens with two D-shaped near/reading prescriptions located at both the standard lower position AND at the top of the lens. Hence, the Double-D name.
Three times in the past 8 months, while working on my cars and spending considerable time on my back trying to focus on items close to my face, I have been overcome with sudden bouts of nausea. I suspect it is caused by my eyes trying to adjust to a reading focal length while looking through the distance prescription.
Other possibilities include suddenly being afflicted with vertigo (odd), having a problem with the prescription strength or prescription location on my current progressive bifocals (possible), or something attributed to the 45+ year old fracture on the back of my skull and advancing age (odd).
I am curious if anyone else here suffered similar nausea problems which were solved by using a Double-D grind on their bifocal lenses for car work or similar. FWIW - I have worn bifocals for ~15 years without issue until just the past eight months.
Thanks,
