The V6 engine was susceptible to catastrophic failure due to oil destruction early in this engine's history. GM was trying hard to sweep this problem under the rug but I know of two Lambda owners who received new engines under warranty, one was even before his second scheduled Dealer oil change!
Enough time has lapsed for this problem to have been solved. Still best to do a little research first.
