Minus 30 Farenheit is more than just "fairly chilly" Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 2 Feb 2015 13:35:28 In Reply to: Re: Falling at 1/2 inch per hour, Snowmobile [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 1 Feb 2015 19:37:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It is down right cold!
Decades ago I had the job of rebuilding an environmental test chamber that would chill automobiles to minus 40 before being taken for drives to test their automatic transmissions. I had the pleasure(?) of spending a few moments in the test chamber at that temperature. Man was that cold!
Of course there was a big fan in the chamber distributing the arctic temperature air so that all four cars would get identically chilled. Techs who had to spend a lot of time in the chamber, attaching test leads and such, wore electrically heated insulated coveralls similar to NASA.
