I can see the appeal... Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Sun, 8 Feb 2015 18:11:03 In Reply to: Still a skeptic, No Snaab, Sun, 8 Feb 2015 10:58:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
for a serious Saab enthusiast... this is a unicorn. Why the heck do people seek out SiS c900's and whatnot? It is the rarity and uniqueness. Let's face it, there are lots of folks here driving older SAABs where parts are becoming similarly unavailable due to age. It's ok, we might have to have something custom made or find a way to repair or whatnot. eg Zig's been looking into having #8 primaries machined... With 3D printing, obscure plastic parts can be reproduced. So it's doable for the die-hard enthusiast. For the soccer-mom who takes it to the dealer for an oil change, no this ain't the car... the Caddy would be a better drop in replacement... but for many SAAB enthusiasts, a Caddy is almost offensive, even if the 2 vehicles share many things, there is just something wrong...
Would I pay $28k for it with 40k miles on the clock. Heck no. I'm too cheap. The last SAAB I bought had only a few more miles and cost me just over $6k. But I can see the appeal. I think some serious negotiating should happen over the price though! But... it is a bit of a unicorn. When supply is low, people can ask what they want and probe the demand...
