Our 9-5 when I bought it had thin/thick 3 spoke 17" wheels as used on the 2002 og9-3se. Very nice wheels. But curb rashed. Dealer must have found them somewhere to "upgrade" the car, but it was silly because the ad photos showed the original 16" 2004 arc wheels...

anyway... the wheels were straight but needed refinishing. Also they were forever covered in black brake dust. I had previously repainted a set of winter alloys which were holding up well, so I decided to do that again. I wanted more of a "titanium" look than the bright silver that is stock, in the hopes it would better hide the brake dust. The brake dust comes back in a week and if you don't clean it all the time, it is very hard to remove! I was kind of disappointed that the shade I got turned out much darker than expected - kind of a bit "gangster", but it is a very dark silver, not black... In the end, I have gotten used to it, and it looks much better wrt brake dust, but would have preferred a lighter "titanium" colour.

Sorry, I can't find before/after photos on this computer. If I do, I will post. I don't think it looks too bad, but I know what you are saying... kind of gangsta (which is fine if that is your thing, but not so much for me)...
