I've done 2 sets of wheels with good results. The first has been through a couple winters of abuse with no ill effects. I would caution that it is probably better to do all 4 at once or the silvers may not match (hue or sheen).
Stinky Paint Man clearly knows his stuff. It's all about laying down the next coat in time to get adhesion. And of course prep. Lots and lots of prep. I used rattle cans so it can be done fine that way. Obviously I would have rather used spray equipment - I'm just not set up for that.
