US market SPGs got ONLY the "SAAB" badge on the tail and grille, and the roundels on the hood and tail. Nowhere was there a "900", "turbo", nor the little "SAAB"s on the hood corners.
1985 was the ONLY year that an SPG had any color interior besides grey. The 1985 SPGs were painted black, with the panels painted Black initially, but later (and for the rest of the run), Anthracite Grey (same color code as the 99 turbo paint). The 1985 had tan leather interiors.
1986 (the only other year with the "flat" nose), the cars were painted Edwardian Grey, with a Buffalo Grey Leather interior.
1987 & 1988 were basically the same. In 1989, IIRC, Black was back as an alternative to the grey. In 1990 Talladega Red was added, and in 1991 - the last year for SPGs - Beryl Green with a lighter grey leather interior was added.
Performance improvements came along gradually. They all received the anti-roll bars (900s did not have them earlier), ventilated front discs were on from 1986 for sure, possibly in 85 also (all my SPG stuff is home...). Power was added gradually by changing the APC box, but never went over 175bhp. 185 bhp would have to wait for the "last of the line" comemmorative edition turbo.
