There are no SPG convertibles! Posted by Larry West [Email] (#1140) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Larry West) on Fri, 1 May 2015 12:47:28 In Reply to: Re: Saab SPG at work today?, Erik919kt, Thu, 30 Apr 2015 08:44:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The 1991 "SE" or "Special Edition" 900 turbo convertibles only got the appearance bits: wheels, skirts, badge delete. Same for the 1988 "Springtime in Sweden" Convertible.
About 15 years ago, I interviewed Dave Schurk, who was with Saab USA and the Saab Convertibles longer than anybody (he watched them cut the roof off the first 2-door 900 in 1982...), and he confirmed that Saab never added the tuned (165/175bhp) APC boxes nor the "Sport Suspension" (springs & shocks from later SPG years) to any convertible. Suspension would have been either stock 900 turbo or stock convertible (if there was a CV-specific suspension).
