The first time it happened it was on a new-to-me car that I'd never had a reason to pull the wheels off. The second time it happened was actually a friend's car, and I was not responsible for it. :)

As far as I'm concerned, compressors save a BUNCH of weight (no jack, no wrench, no tire/wheel) and that pays off all day, every day. The once-in-a-lifetime situation where you absolutely need to change a tire doesn't offset all the times you don't.
