I can't find a complete listing, but the Michelin site doesn't list an Alpin in 205/55R15, 215/55R16, or 225/50R16. These seem mostly 17, 18, and 19"
I have worn v-rated WRs in 225/50R16. They were great. The WRG2 and G3 either don't come in that size or seem a lesser tire based upon reviews. There's a post from someone in Canada commenting on some of the issues. The directional WR was distinct from the asymmetrical G2/G3.
I'm being price sensitive. I'm sure an Aplin or Nokian would be good, but is it necessary to spend 6-800+ when I can get something like the iceGuards for half. The iceGuard might be superior in really bad weather with sacrifices in the dry. Much of the time my speeds barely crack 60 mph due to congestion. Perhaps T is adequate or at least much better than Q.
Tires are such a guessing game until one tries them and is stuck with them. Even ones that are good new, can wear poorly.
