Wow, your thoughts and opinion is great - I appreciate the time you took to reply to my issue.
As it turned out, the company that made the appointment with me, never showed up. Called and he apologized, said that his phone system to notify him of the appointment, didn't.
We purchased the home 6 years ago, outside walls were up, interior including plumbing, electrical, dry wall etc. was done after we contracted for purchase. The builder, who we investigated prior to signing, had a good reputation and normally builds higher end developments than ours along with building apartment communities and renting them out. Builders name, Sterling Properties.
They promised that our home would be complete in 30-45 days, that never happened, in fact it was over 3 months and there were issues while building and after we moved in that needed to be taken care of. After living here awhile we met several of the other homeowners and understood that they to had issues with the builder.
Anyone purchasing a new home in a development needs to be aware of 'Transition', this is when the community gets turned over to the residents. We're still in this process, the builder is doing his dance without agreeing to do the needed work. It's ugly..........would NEVER put myself thru this again with any builder. Also home warranties are useless, unless you find the issues that need to be addressed in the first year. All the laws are on the builders side, after all their attorneys know the politicians that write the laws.
Now back to my issue.
When we get back from vacation, I'll find some other insulation companies to give us costs with the information you've armed me with.
I've been told that the people that do energy audits normally aren't the ones that do the work.
I've also heard that in kitchens with all the plumbing in the walls that the insulation can get moved around and it becomes ineffective.
I'll let you know, what we decide to do. Thanks again For ALL OF YOUR ADVICE. Now I'll be armed with the right questions to ask...!!
