I'm living in an apartment in the United States. I have a balcony. It is completely outdoors and is separated from the inside of the apartment by a sliding glass door. I've been searching online (including Ikea) on things to do with a balcony, patio furniture, etc. The interesting thing is that almost all of the information I've found for "balconies", actually show/describe enclosed spaces that are not actually outdoors. Is this more common in places outside of the United States? To have a "balcony" that is actually something indoors, with a large window? Here is an example image of a balcony from the Ikea website. Every image on the Ikea website of sample balcony ideas are actually enclosed spaces where they have ironing boards, etc. Stuff that I could never leave outdoors on my balcony.
