Waxing car with bad clear coat
Posted by steve (more from steve) on Tue, 3 Oct 2017 08:30:44
One Saab has crackled clear coat that is flaking off and another has larger clear coat sheets that peeled on the hood. How do I deal with these problem surfaces? Wash, clay, Klasse the other surfaces? Work around the hood peel?
There are some products specifically for paint that has lost its clear coat. Anyone tried any of these? I know repaint is the only permanent fix. I'm trying to protect the rest of the paint for now.
Others recommend frequent use of cleaner waxes. Klasse is gentle so I suppose I could just clay the car and Klasse. Cam I clay the crackled clear or raw paint under the peeled clear?
