Ok in checking my compact spare - it was flat, somewhow valve stem was damaged so have to replace that, go to nearby discount tire and hear "we are sorry sir but that spare is over 10 yrs old, we cannot touch it" - I've never once used it, it looks fabulous, like it just popped out of the womb.

So I begged a valve stem off of them - going to try and mount using a wooden plank method I saw on U tube, but open to hearing any better suggestions.

I once almost bought the Harbor Freight manual tire mounter to mount some 12 yrs old snow tires, now regretting not having done so.

And pretty please - no suggestions just buy a new spare. won't happen, totally against my nature .
