I know one of the Swedish Saab engineers who worked on this project, and they just went thru all the possible suspension setups GM had designed for this platform. They had GM build 2 trailblazers, a six and a V8, and shipped them to Sweden for winter testing & suspension calibration. All of the styling work was done in Detroit, including the console mounted key.
When the Chevy guys saw what Saab was up to with the Aero version, the Trailblazer SS was born.
One of the Trailblazers (the Aero prototype) was kept in Sweden and used to tow test cars and as a test car support vehicle.
If you want one, get the Aero version --390 hp LS v8 is fun.
