I know I got 33MPG on that Chi ago to Ann Arbor run mentioned above, but not since.
Expressway mileage since then has topped at 30MPG tops. Why? I know I filled the Outback on that trip at a BP Station in Michigan City Indiana, our usual stop. I also remember that I fiiied the vehicle with Premium, as I had done with all our SAABs, as a habit/mistake since the Outback's H6 engine does not require Premium. During our last trip to Chicago, refueling at the same station, I noticed the following sign on the pump. "This fuel may contain 10% Ethanol."
So I am now assuming that lone tank of BP Premium was 100% gasoline, which resulted in my noted 10% fuel mileage increase.
I just want to be as accurate as possible with this post.
