I have the 6 cylinder version.
It is indeed a Trailblazer and that community is very helpful. But the problem you're having with the ignition lock/ECU is a unique GM design where the keylock is located in the center console. The tech2 is fully functional for diagnostics and programming. Your local mechanic should also be able to help with their options. I have not had the problem you are describing so what you find out would be helpful to know. Any other questions and ideas you have should be very welcome by this community.
