Thanks for that - from what I’ve read the AGM batteries are sensitive to voltage. If it goes above 15 it can brick the battery, The voltage regulator keeps it around 14 volts +/- so it should only happen if the voltage regulator is faulty.
If I can get the car started on the old battery (I had it on charge for more than 24 hours but the charger was not registering full charge and it’s gone dead on me twice since I brought it out of hibernation), I’ll check the voltage with a multimeter to make sure the voltage regulator is not faulty before getting the new battery.
As long as it doesn’t risk any damage to the car itself, I’m willing to give it a try.
