Apparently, many drivers in PA were not asked on their driver's exams about how to best use a merge area. Rt.s 81 and 83 are always under construction, and there's always lots of merging. In PA, as soon as they see the word MERGE, they do so. Anyone who does not follow this DIRECT ORDER (!) gets blocked, and maybe even run off the road. They sit in this 3 mile-long line of cars, not moving, while an empty lane sits next to them. What the he!!?

The proper and most efficient way to do this is to use all of the merge area. Not "ducking in and cutting people off" style, but keeping everyone rolling and merging in an orderly fashion. Never happens up there. They even have signs now that say "Use all of the merge area" or something like that. And they have dots on the road that say "leave two dots"! Dots! On the road! Wow!

To my good buddie Saabers in PA, I know you don't do this! : )

Also: I hate being passed on the right at stop lights where there's a shoulder. I swear the next person that tries that is going to get T-boned. I had a guy try it in his BMW 325... saw him coming just as the light changed; I was in the far right lane of this 3 lane road (3 either side)... floored it and out ran him, got in front of him and SLAMMED on the brakes. He got sideways behind me trying to swerve from hitting my bumper. Jack@$$.

Another: someone else mentioned something similar: truckers who just won't get over. They cruise along at 55, right next to each other. NO matter of flashing or whatever works to get them to get outta the way.

Lastly: loser racers who just won't give up. Beat 'em once, ok, and give it to 'em again. Third time's enuff, bud! They just ain't gonna win. On top of that... I have had guys lose so badly, but still will not stop tailgating me or following my lane changes. Get up to 100 mph or something, and then back to cruise speed. They come screaming up on the bumper again.

I should move to Montana.
