Okay, this site has been very good to me in the past. anyway, looking for a new car, but with a twist. used to own saabs, then got out for reasons not worth explaining here. This board helped me get accord v6 for wife (too bad she won't let me mod!) and wrx for brother as preorder. but now I need help since can't wait for [now appears possible saab awd turbo variant].
Twist is: I am going to work for union side labor firm. need to drive american metal. firm will pay, but what to get and still have some enjoyment? Further, garage is small (a c900 saab was tight fit: 187" deep? by 69" wide?).
so, big yank tanks are a no go. out of possible contenders (dodge stratus, chrysler sebring lxi coupe [both with decent mitsu 6cyl, but maybe too big), upcoming pontiac vibe (awd, but auto), and ford focus. I'm intrigued by focus since gets good reviews and now has SVT version. a bit "young" of a car, but what do you all say? loved the c900t and 900spg. too bad they had to go. am now driving 95 chevy corsica (was free from relative so couldn't say no), which while it runs is not worth the experience. anyone with ideas on the focus svt? anyone with a small american car? can't imagine the cavalier is any good.
maybe a turbo on the focus and a saab badge will make it feel better?
thanks for any input.
