Ok none of us are really, really race car drivers, right? When I was at Summit Point, three cars wrecked:
M3 -- slid off track (rolled, driver died.)
911 -- slid off track (hit a tree)
740 -- slid off track (smacked a fender on something)
Sure, I spun once (in rain,) but didn't go off the track.
I've spoken to a pro (I think) Saab rallier from MD who said he prefered FWD over AWD because since the track conditions vary every foot, if the rear gets substantially more grip than the front, the rear could unexpectedly throw itself around.
