Most leases come with 'capitalization charges' up front - that's the XXX dollars down, then so many $$ a month for the lease. Typically that's a few thousand dollars - think of it as a down payment.

What you want is a no-money down lease with a very short term - or, you want to drive a new car for $400, when a rental would be $1000 or more. I don't see it happening - there is absolutely no economic reason for anyone to provide such a lease. Call it a lease, but it is the same as renting. If a rental car company can get $1000 for a car, why would someone charge only $400? That someone would charge $999 if they wanted the business, but they aren't going to give up $600 in profit.

You really don't have a lot of options here - you're looking for a long term rental, cheap. Try some non-traditional places - call dealers and see if they rent cars on a long term basis. Try some of the off-brand rental places, even the 'rent-a-wreck' places.
