It responds quite well to modifications similar to the way our Saab turbos do. My friend here in Germany drives a Seat Ibiza Cupra which is essentially a Spanish built VW Polo with a 1.8T. With just a air filter, performance muffler and a MBC, this car absolutely flies! His car trounces mine off the line all the way to about 60 to 70 mph where my superior power (250+) comes in to play. Anyways, a Seat Leon is built on a Golf platform and I have seen a Cupra R version with 200+ hp also. It easily outruns most VR6's.
Just my opinion.
