Disclaimer: The following contributes nothing to the original point... Interesting observation about quattro frequency, Justin. Here in the greater Albany (NY) area, I'd say the ratio is closer to 3:1 going the other way. I read your article about 5 minutes after posting. With this on my mind I went for a slice of pizza and a session of Audi spotting wondering if my impression was accurate. It was. I counted 10 Audis, 1 S4, 1 A4 Avant, 1 A8, 1 S8, 2 A6's and 4 A4's. Exactly 3 cars were non quattro, all were A4's.
Saab content: Center Square (downtown) is 900 heaven! Counted 12 900's (including 9-3). 4 C900 (0 turbos, wtf!?), 5 NG900 (including one Talladega) and 3 9-3. Woulda probably doubled my count had I walked Washington park. Not in the market for a dimebag or stab wound though.
