They whined that the base model only makes 175 hp, as opposed to the previous Viggen's 230... is this supposed to actually mean something? Like, at introduction the E46 BMW *falling down in adoration*, "oh great, holy, sacred BMW!" 323i only had 165 hp, whereas the outgoing E36 M3 had 236 hp... they just couldn't seem to bring themselves to say much good about the new 9-3... except that SAAB may have aleinated the 2% of small luxury car buyers who like hatchbacks. Well, the press didn't get orgasmic over the Audi A4 when it was introduced in 1995 either. Maybe they are waiting to see how the public reacts to the car before commiting themselves. Also, elsewhere in the magazine they reference SAAB as a marque with an identity crisis. Are our cars really that mediocre?
