My wife had a similar problem, different store here in Chicago, Abt Electronics (they ordinarily have outstanding service, great prices, cheap isntallation, so we gave them some slack this time, we still go there, and still recommend them). The 2 guys came in to install a gas stove, went into the basement, which is unfinished, and asked my wife where the gas line is (it's right in the middle of the ceiling!) She IMMEDIATELY called the store and told them what happened. Eventually, they installed the line about 10 feet farther from where they should have. My wife called the store again, concerned that these goofs left it leaking (you know, gas, fire, BOOM!). The store sent out a service manager the next day, who inspected the connection, the pipe and the whole installation, it was okay, but he said they were having lots of complaints about that crew, who no longer worked for them. Happy ending.
A previous time, they charged only $150 to install a sleave a/c unit in a brick wall (1/2 days work for 2 men). The guys tool broke so he had to come back the next day, he gave us a $50 store credit before we could even complaint. Good service.
