All I can say is Before you buy a Toyoyo, get some good seat time in one. I've rented Camry's on business trips. Shortest trip was 350 miles, longest 800. They are an OK highway car, but if you like to rush the corners on windy roads you'll be very unhappy. The understeer is horrendous, the gear ratios too wide and the ride to soft. They need bars, shocks and big tires to help correct the built-in problems.
Camry steering is a bit numb, but tolerable. The seats, as another writer noted, are bad news. Limited lumbar support, seat bottom too soft, seat probably too low, too. I find my lower back is hurting after about an hour or so, and my butt gets sore. (I'm 6'2", 200 lbs)
Cars are cars...but get one you enjoy driving. Be sure you have the maintenance records (at least oil changes) on anything you buy. Look for a newer Saab than your 1990, say a '96 or later 900se. Or if you want an American car, check out an Olds Intrigue. They come cheap and GM has tons of parts. Just get it serviced at an independent. Have driven those about 3500 miles and they are very nice. Plus they fly!
