Just take the usual precautions when buying a second hand car ... but if you really need a reliable car that gives you no surprises, go for it.
And don't listen to the guys with extreme opinions . Unfortunetaly, even in the Saab community you can't avoid little locals Ayatollah's.
If the Camry gives you a good impression at first, and if you are able to trace how the car has been handled by its first owner ... you can take for granted that the car will probably give you what you attempt : a good ride and peace in your mind.
You're absolutely right guessing that a good japanese car, well maintained, will take you over the 200.000 miles.
Just keep it well regularly serviced .
Honda and Lexus are good brands too.
But I don't know if you're able to find Lexus at a good price in the States. Here, in Belgium, Europe, you can find
GS 300 from 1994 with less than 100.000 kms at about a little less than 10.000 $.
Good luck !
