Why do prices/services vary so much between dealers? Posted by saabgirlie [Email] (#155) [Profile/Gallery] (more from saabgirlie) on Fri, 15 Nov 2002 19:39:21 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So this week I made my first eBay purchase. A key fob unlocker thingy for my Saab, which only came with one.
Upon receipt, I called a Saab Dealer in Minnetonka MN and they wanted to charge me $47 (more than the cost of my eBay purchase) in labor and sit at the shop of a half hour to reprogram the fob for my car. Boo.
Then I called the Saab Dealer in Maplewood MN, a little out of my way, but near my mechanic, they said it would take less than 15min and there was no charge. So I drove up there and got my oil changed at my mech and then had my fob reprogrammed. I also took a look at the new 9-3SS while I was there. Very pleasant no hassle experience and I didn't buy my saab there. But I may in the future. :)
So what gives with the price and labor time difference in the same metro area?
