Pretty sure the standard items are Sachs/Boge. My 1993 CSE came with the Saab "sports" suspension with stiffer dampers (Sachs items) and Aero spring colours. Recently changed to Abbott springs and Konis and would not want to go any harder - the suspension is sometimes too hard but I'm prepared to put up with that for the handling (on smoother roads) and cornering accuracy.
The standard dampers/struts on the Aero are pretty good anyway and seem to last a long time. I have no idea if the Sports package is still to be had but I know one of the sponsors will effectively sell you an Aero setup (search "Aero suspension" or similar on the 9000 board for more info).
I went with Konis partly because Abbott recommends them and I wanted a fully-thought-through package, but also because I understood Bilsteins to be stiffer, though I haven't tried them so this is hearsay only.
Depending on mileage, you might like to start by changing your rear anti-sway bar bushes and front "butterfly" bushes to poly, and front anti-roll bar bushes to poly or new rubber, depending on how much understeer you like (poly = more understeer than rubber). These will be appropriate if you then upgrade the dampers, anyway.
On top of this, what wheels/tyres do you run? With 17" low-profile rubber locking everything up tight may loosen your fillings...
