Even though I do almost all my own work, I have to compliment my dealer on the warranty work he has performed, and the service manager and the technicians openly admit that they routinely see SAABs coming in for the well known failure items. the warranty expense must be huge for SAAB, and when cars are already heavily discounted just keeps the spiral in motion.
If discounts on SAABs are heavier than other brands, I would expect a sales person to try to sell the brand which discounts less, as I think he will earn more. Also, new car buyers have been known to bitch their sales person out first in the auto does not live up to expectations.
I wonder if all the true SAAB loyalists will consider paying list price for their next SAAB, in the interest of helping SAAB realize financial stability. Excessive discounts are murderous on profitability.
