I've been leasing a 528 for the last 3 yrs and am moving to a 2003 9-5 Aero. I tried the BMW primarily because of its positioning within the Top 10 at C&D. The BMW is a very good driving car, competent in every way. But I always felt it was way overpriced for what it offered. Cramped quarters, so-so seating, generic styling (looks from the rear like a Honda Civic), limited extras (no auto off for headlights). And I never could get over their nickel and diming over options. A fold down rear seat option is $500, for example. The Saabs have much more character, many surpise extras and one of the most comfortable seats and functional interiors. What is also surprising is the 9-3 is compared with the BMW 3 series, when it is closer in all respects (other than pricing) to a BMW 5 series.
